The 21st century world has become a Global Village. With mass immigration, cultural integration, inter-cultural & inter-racial marriages, cyber technology and global tourism, our lives and economies have become significantly inter-dependent.
From Asia to Africa, Europe & Middle East to Latin America , Canada and the United States, every country has experienced heavy influx of immigrants. Regardless of their origin, the immigrants have enriched the cultures of their host nations and introduced their languages, foods and cultures in a way one could have never imagined even two decades ago.
The concept of a Global Village presents many challenges and opportunities for all of us but specially in the United States to realize and accept that we are a Nation of Nations. We are indeed very proud of our diversity, heritages and ethnic identity but we are proud to be Americans.
The Multicultural Council of America was founded on September 11, 2001, the day our country experienced the worst tragedy of an attack and thousands of innocent lives were lost, dreams were shattered and our national pride was shaken. But we have come together and embarked on a mission to try to understand that the Global Village can only survive with better understanding and respect for each member of the global family.
We invite you to join us, help us with your ideas, time, cultural, professional and financial resources. Regardless of where in the world you live or work, you are an important member of our Global Family. Help us establish a local chapter in your community and together we can help your community to develop cultural, educational and healthcare programs.
